• Scientific Symposium “Nutritional Management in CKD: an Update”

  

  A scientific symposium on “Nutritional Management in CKD patients: AN Update” was held on 12 April 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The lectures titled “Current recommendations for nutritional management of CKD and the importance of low protein diet” and “Role of ketoanalogues in CKD management: current evidence and case sharing” were delivered by Prof. Tarng Der-Cherng and Dr. Liliana Garneata respectively. The symposium was well attended by over 130 participants.

• The Clinical Practice Guidelines for Renal Service in Hong Kong will be revised under the auspice of the Hong Kong College of Physicians and the Central Renal Committee, Hospital Authority, and with the support from the Hong Kong Society of Nephrology. An open forum was conducted on 2 July 2017 at the Hospital Authority to collect views and comments from the renal community. Over 350 clinicians, renal nurses and allied health care professionals from both public and private sectors had attended this forum. Constructive comments and views were exchanged during this Forum, which would certainly help refine the formulation of this upcoming Clinical Practice Guidelines for Renal Service in Hong Kong.

  Working group for the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Renal Service in Hong Kong
• 

  The HKSN Glomerulonephritis Symposium 2017 took place on 8 July 2017 at the Marco Polo Hotel, Hong Kong. We were pleased to have Prof. Peter Mathieson, Prof. Fan Fan Hou, Prof. CC Szeto, Prof. Min Chen, Prof. Priya Alexander and Prof. Adrian Liew to share their insights and experience on various glomerular diseases which include membranous glomerulopathy, minimal change nephropathy, ANCA-associated glomerulonephritis, complement-mediated glomerulonephritis and also the use of biologics in glomerular diseases. Over 100 participants had attended this Symposium and the sessions were well received by the audience.
