The Hong Kong Society of Nephrology was established since 1979. It is a non-profit making professional organization consisting of doctors, nurses and other allied health staff who are interested in renal diseases.

Central Commissioned Training Program (Renal) 2017/2018
 

The Central Commission Training Program (Renal) 2017/2018 was two-day program held on the 13th to 14th of January 2018. The theme of this year was “The New Era in Home Hemodialysis”.

The first day focused on the “Vascular access in nocturnal home hemodialysis” and was held at the Lecture Theatre, 7/F, Block H of Princess Margaret Hospital. The second day focused on “Global trends and clinical outcomes in nocturnal home hemodialysis” and was held at Lecture Theatre, M floor of Hospital Authority Building. This event was organized by the Central Renal Committee, Hospital Authority, with Hong Kong Society of Nephrology and the Hong Kong Kidney Foundation also serving as co-organizers. The scientific program included various lectures, workshops and panel discussions. This year we are honored to two internationally renowned overseas speakers, Prof. Christopher Chan (Canada) and Prof. Peter Kerr (Australia) to share their experience in home hemodialysis. The Commissioned Training was well attended and received by a total of 150 and 272 members on the first and second day, respectively, thanks to the excellent coordination by Dr. Samuel Fung and his team at PMH.
