HKSN Scientific Symposia
 

The following HKSN Scientific Symposia were organized during September to December 2018.

Lectures titled “Current Practice of SHPT Treatment in Hong Kong” by Dr. Sze-kit Yuen, and “Etelcalcetide: A New Treatment Option in the Management of SHPT in Haemodialysis Patients” by Prof. Sir John Cunningham were delivered on 11 October 2018.

“Integrated Heart Failure Management Workshop: Perspectives from Cardiologist, Geriatrician and Nephrologist” was held on 10 November 2018. Lectures titled “Chronic Heart Failure Care Planning: Considerations in Older Patients” by Prof. Jacqueline Taylor, “Cardiovascular risk factors specific to chronic kidney disease – relevant to heart failure patients?” by Prof. Patrick Mark, and “Management of comorbidities in Heart failure” by Prof. Roy Gardner were delivered.

Symposium titled “Cardiovascular and Renal Microvascular Outcome Study with Linagliptin in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (CARMELINA)” was delivered by Prof. Per-Henrik Groop on 19 November 2018.

A special lecture to members of the Society was delivered by the CUHK LKEC Visiting Prof. Patrick Maxwell on 5 December 2018. The title of the lecture was “Genetics and Nephrology: A Personal Perspective”.
